Community/Board of Directors

Join the Rocks and Clouds Community 

Support the Rocks and Clouds Zendo community and help us sustain and grow our Zen practice. Your contributions directly support our teachers, programs, and space for meditation, Dharma talks, and retreats. We offer three membership levels to suit your giving:

 

Contributing Member ($1 - $20/month Sliding Scale): This membership supports daily operations and regular practice sessions.

 

Sustaining Member ($50/month): Helps us expand offerings, retreats, and community outreach.

Visionary Member ($100+/month): Enables long-term projects, scholarships, and broader Zen outreach.

 

Members receive a welcome packet, access to our listserve, and after six months, voting rights in board elections. Every donation makes a difference, and we are grateful for your support. To join, click the button below or email us at rocksandcloudszen@gmail.com.

Community Member and Leader

Daniel Terragno, a native of Chile, is a teacher in the koan tradition of the Diamond Sangha, which was founded by Robert Aitkeån Roshi, and received his authorization to teach Zen from John Tarrant, Roshi of the Pacific Zen Institute. 

Dr. Changaris is a clinical health psychologist with a specialty in the biological bases of behavior, multicultural psychology, stress physiology, and the neuroanatomy of PTSD.

He has been training in Zen practice since 2002.

Carol Spooner is a long time advocate for social justice and commmunity leader in Zen practice. She first joined us in 2009, is a former attorney for Pacifica Radio, and former Pacifica National Board member. She has lived in Santa Rosa for over fifty years.

Reverend Neti Mushin Parekh began her formal Zen practice in 1995, moved to the United States in 2001, and continued her koan training with Daniel Terragno Roshi. In 2009 she was authorised to teach in that lineage. 

Philip Jensen grew up in upstate New York and received a B.A. in applied mathematics from Harvard College. He recently retired from a career in computer programming, culminating with an exciting five years at Google, Inc.

Jay Herdt is a Zen Student, leader, and guiding member of Rocks and Clouds. He first joined is in 2015. He has worked in primary care outpatient medical service both as a provider, business owner, and administrator.
